Bob Spurrier’s journey began in 1976 when he founded Kingsley Optical, a business that would go on to establish itself as a trusted name in the optical industry. With a full-service lab and a team of certified opticians, Kingsley Optical quickly gained a reputation for its ability to meet the needs of patients with a wide range of prescriptions.
The business’s evolution continued as it transitioned to the capable hands of Bob’s son, Robert, who had been immersed in the optical world from an early age. As a third-generation optician, Robert joined Kingsley Optical in 1984, driven by a deep-rooted passion for helping people improve their vision. Over the next three decades, he brought a new wave of energy and innovation to the family legacy, ultimately taking the reins from his father, Bob.
Under Robert’s leadership, Kingsley Optical embarked on a mission to enhance the customer experience and stay ahead of the ever-evolving optical landscape. His commitment to keeping the business at the forefront of industry trends was evident in the three key areas of focus: eyeglasses, sunglasses, and anti-reflective coatings.
